Respite

Respite care and support gives family carers and people with a learning disability a break. The break can be for a few hours or several weeks. Respite can be at the care home we run or at the persons own home.

The care home is a period house in Radford, close to the city centre and amenities. The service is registered as a Care Home with the Commission for Social Care Inspection (CSCI) for up to 10 people to stay and one of the bedrooms is on the ground floor that can be accessed by someone using a wheel chair. There is an extensive lounge and dining room which are used for a range of activities

Before someone comes to stay they are asked about the things they would like to do during their stay. Activities might be in the house, such as arts and crafts or may be going out to the cinema or for a meal at a restaurant.

Life Path Trust is also able to offer respite care for people in their own home. If family carers want a holiday but the person does not want to leave the familiar surroundings of their own home, we can provide staff to support them at home.
