John HigginsChairman |
John worked in services for people who have a learning disability in both the statutory and independent sector for over 40 years before retiring in 2006. During this period he held senior management positions in both residential and day services, has been a Director responsible for the development and management of services for a national charity working in different areas of England, and most recently developed a new range of services for an organisation in the South West. In addition he has worked as a Director of Human Resources with a particular remit for staff training and development. John lives in Market Harborough in Leicestershire with his wife Mary and has four grown up children. Having worked in Coventry in his early career he is looking forward to getting to know the service users and staff of Life Path Trust and hopes that some of his past experience will benefit the organisation. |

William Lewis MBEVice Chair |
Bill is one of the founder members of Coventry Homes encouraging parents to come together to form a committee in the first instance to take over a house to start respite care. He was Chair for nearly 20 years during which time it redeveloped as today. Commencing employment with Northampton County Council in 1959 as a Manager responsible for starting one of the first centres for Adults with a Learning Disability in the country (then labelled Mentally Handicapped). Bill moved to Coventry in 1964 to manage Torrington Centre and was then appointed Service Group Manager for Learning Disability which covered day care and residential care. Bill is also a founder member of the Special Olympics and the Midland Sports Association for people with learning disabilities! |
Mike Barnes |
Mike brings a lot of management experience and vision to the Board from his previous experience in both business and the third sector. He has represented the third sector to government on Department of Transport study groups. In the West Midlands Mike is chair of Regional Action West Midlands (RAWM). Coventry benefits from Mike’s experience as he is a Trustee and Treasurer of Voluntary Action Coventry, he is also involved with the Local Strategic Partnership Board’s sub group. Mike is looking forward to using his skills and experience to help Life Path Trust. | |

Anne Edwards |
Anne previously worked at the Inland Revenue. She became involved in fund raising for Life Path Trust a few years ago and helped to produce the Receipe Book for the charity's 30th Anniversary. Anne also supports Newpath. |

Hugo Galli |
Hugo took an interest in the charity many years ago, when his parents, especially mum, made soft toys for raffles and helped with projects to raise funds for the respite care home which in those days was in Broad Lane. His background has been in engineering, but before he retired over 18 months ago he ran his own company for 35 years. Hugo has served on the board for over six years, including being a member of the finance committee. Hugo has a younger brother who is supported by LPT so he has a personal interest in the charity, and wants to do all he can to ensure that the people we support have the best possible quality of care and support. |

Tina O'Connor |
Tina worked at the Inland Revenue from the time she left school through to when she retired. It has been more than 14 years since she got involved with the charity on a voluntary basis and has been a Board member for over 5 years now. Tina has a brother that has been supported by Life Path since 1991. |
Philip Orton |
Philip became a Trustee in November 2008. He worked for almost 20 years in the National Health Service in General Management and Human Resource/ Personnel Management positions. In 1989 he founded Broad View Care, a private limited company and charity, which provided services for adults with a learning disability, in Coventry, until October 2006. Philip says ‘I have known Life Path Trust – and prior to the change in name, Coventry Homes – for many years and admire the work it does. I am pleased to have the opportunity of making a contribution to its future and to, in however small a way, helping to improve people’s lives. | |
