PQASSO Level 2 achieved!

We are delighted to announce that Life Path gained PQASSO at Level 2 in November 2011, which is valid for 3 years.

Practical Quality Assurance Systems for Small Organisations (PQASSO) is the leading quality standard developed for the sector.

Life Path Trust underwent an external review over a 3 day period, which was conducted by 2 Peer Reviewers working on behalf of the Charities Evaluation Services (CES) who designed PQASSO specifically for the voluntary and community sector.

The review is designed by CES which looks at 12 quality areas, these cover the main things you need to work on in order to run your organisation well and assess the results of your work. All organisations need to cover the requirement of Level 1; more established or complex organisations may decide to move onto level 2 and 3.

A big thank you to everyone who joined the Quality Support Group and who helped in ensuring we had the evidence to meet the requirements and to everyone who had the unenviable job of being interviewed by the Peer Reviewers.  The Reviewers said that “They had thoroughly enjoyed the 3 days, meeting with the staff and Trustees and that Life Path Trust is a well-run organisation, which offers very ‘professional’ and locally recognised and valued services to meet the needs of people with learning disabilities.”

CQC Inspection Report - Respite Service 2011

The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out a scheduled review of our Respite care home in Radford last month.

They reviewed all the information they hold about LPT, during their inspection they observed how people were being cared for, looked at records of people who use the services, talked to staff and talked to people who use the services.

CQC found that Ellys Road was meeting all the essential standards of quality and safety.

Well done to Tina Turrell and all her staff team for the excellent feedback received from professionals and families alike. Its good to see the good work continues and it gets recognised and appreciated. Well done to everyone.

New homes

At the end of January seven people supported by Life Path moved to brand new flats built by Orbit Housing Association. Everyone likes having a flat on their own or that they share with one other person.

Exhibit at NEC

Life Path Trust was pleased to be invited to exhibit at the launch event for ‘Valuing People Now’ at the NEC. It was a great event where we were able to talk about our work with people with learning disabilities, families, commissioners and other professionals who attended.
